WHAT CAN I EXPECT ON MY FIRST PODIATRY APPOINTMENT?
Being a mobile podiatry service, we come to you. This may be in your home, retirement village, nursing home or hospital. We bring all materials and equipment required to complete your podiatry appointment including sterilised instruments, motorised drill (it’s not as scary as it sounds!) and towels (to avoid mess). Together with the patient, we will find a comfortable chair or bed for you to sit or lay on while receiving your treatment and will work with the space that you have. To begin with, we will ask you to fill in a patient details and consent form. We will then take a thorough history of your foot concerns, taking into consideration your medical history. Following this, we will assess your feet. This is very much a individualised process which may or may not include assessment of your skin, nails, blood flow, nerves, joints, gait (walking style), muscle strength, footwear and current or previous orthotics.
